If you think precious metals, leathers and gemstones don’t strike a chord with affordability, you’ll be stoked about Carrie K. Borne out of a pursuit to rediscover herself, Carolyn left her post as a Managing Director at an international ad agency to chase her dreams of becoming a silversmith and jewellery designer.
Grounded in the belief that everyone should stay true to themselves, I must say I truly identify with their brand philosophy – “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who matter don’t mind and those who mind don’t matter” (Dr. Suess). Honoring honesty and imperfections in people, Carolyn uses hammered metals and unfinished rocks to craft a range of jewellery that are simplistic and elegant with a slight edge, perfectly conveying her message.
Stackables are my ultimate favourites and Carrie K. is one brand where indulging in multiples will not be a bank breaker. Her leather braids and bracelets comes in an assortment of fetching shades and exotic leathers – lizard, snake and calf.
Their braid especially is an awesome buy as they’re extremely versatile. They can be worn as a bracelet or choker, or even extended or matched with other braids to create a funkier effect. But it does remind me of Bottega Venetta’s Intreciaciato bracelet, which is a good thing! An awesome design at a lesser price tag.
